March 29th, 2025

The Technical Unit held its first on-line seminar on March 29th, 2025. The seminar was led by Master Morris and was geared to school owners and/or Black Belts 4th Degree and higher. This instructor level training was focused on increased comfort level, delivering and teaching the curriculum, facilitating seminars, and preparing the techniques of the instructors for their next belt level.

The seminar started with Chon-Ji and emphasized walking stances. Specifically, it was noted that beginner students need to strengthen their legs, knees, and quadriceps. Building up these muscles helps with improved sine wave, longer stances, and stepping to the next stance. Sine wave raises mass, which in turn raises the energy. Without sine wave, students cannot move properly and they end up having shorter stances.

The next segment of this seminar covered the pattern Choi-Yong. The instructors first demonstrated the pattern. Then Master Morris pointed out a number of details and various corrections. Choi-Yong ended with going over the pattern step by step. It was noted in this pattern that many concepts and actions are transferred to other patterns, including colored belt patterns.

The last pattern addressed was Moon-Moo. Much time was spent on this pattern through step-by-step instruction from Master Morris.

The seminar concluded with a question-and-answer section plus feedback from the instructors. The seminar ended after one hour and fifteen minutes.

Thank you to Master Morris and all the instructors who participated in this free initial seminar. Information regarding the next on-line seminar will be forthcoming.
