Technical Unit Minutes
January 19, 2025
The Technical Unit had their third meeting on January 19th, 2025. The following are the minutes from this meeting. The committee members present at this meeting were Master Jason Morris, Master Kenneth Rattet, Master Seth Rattet, Mr. Alex Simileysky, Mr. Allen Perrigan, and Mr. Barry Weisberg.
- Developing curriculum for the colored belts is completed. The black belt curriculum through 5th Degree is currently in progress and under review.
- We now have an ITF-USA backdrop and frame to use during online training.
- The calendar has been created to inform the members and public at large regarding dates of seminars, tournaments, and other related topics.
The Technical Unit members discussed and will develop a list of technical topics to cover based on the results of the recent survey that was previously sent out. This will include scheduling the 2025 training sessions for instructors.
Addition, the Technical Unit will communicate with the other Units regarding arranging events such as the Nationals and others for the purpose of coordinating complimentary seminars. This task is in progress and will be ongoing.
Uploading Google Drive material such as Black Belt curriculum to be reviewed, a blank sheet (document) for developing a list of technical topics to cover in training sessions, documentation of meeting minutes, and related communication with other members are just some of the Google Drive uploads to be reviewed, discussed, and commented on by the Technical Unit members. The Technical Unit’s next meeting will be held on February 16th, 2025 ay 3:00PM EST.

The Technical Committee has been meeting on a regular basis. The following is a summary of the Technical Committee’s latest meeting held on December 8th, 2024. The committee members present at this meeting were Master Jason Morris, Master Seth Rattet, Mr. Alex Simileysky, Mr.
Allen Perrigan, and Mr. Barry Weisberg.
Work is progressing on a backdrop and frame and for the creation of the 2025 calendar to plan specific dates for seminars, on-line activities, and many other scheduled events.
- A Color Belt kids curriculum and estimated cost for the budget is in process plus a basic Black Belt curriculum. These curriculums will eventually be added to the website. In addition, the Technical Committee is working on planning Google Meet training sessions for ITF-USA instructors.
- We would also like to thank all the instructors who took time out of their busy schedules to complete the recent survey that was sent out. Soon a summary of the survey results will be included in the upcoming newsletter.
- A social media record system has been created to document any added on-line correspondence for our non-profit status. This includes any general documentation and any specific documentation for our website and social media accounts. Overall, the objective of the Technical Committee is to increase the technical level of Taekwon-Do in the ITF-USA and to provide a service and value to the membership.
All members of the Technical Committee have specific responsibilities to move forward with the goals and objectives of the committee. They are working hard in supporting the instructors and their schools and students in the ITF-USA.
The committee’s next meeting will be held on January 19 th , 2025 at 3:00 PM, EST.
October 12, 2024
The Technical Committee had their first meeting on October 12. The committee consists of Master Jason Morris, Master Seth Rattet, Mr. Joseph Karstadt, Mr. Alex Simileysky, Mr. Allen Perrigan, and Mr. Barry Weisberg. The goals and objectives of the committee are to
- Provide clear standards to the dojangs in the form of curriculums for the colored belt level and the black belt level, to review what is already in place, and to develop what might be lacking.
- Develop a path forward and prepare instructors to test for their next rank through appropriate scheduling as well as guiding them as well as their students during this process.
- Provide training so that curriculum and test standards are understood.
- This will be accomplished through in person training one to two times per year. It will cover broad subjects aimed at reconciling techniques nationwide similar to International Instructor Courses.
- Additionally, online training will be available every one to two months, focusing on more specific subjects such as step sparring as one example.
Overall, the objective is to increase the technical level of Taekwon-Do in the ITF-USA and to provide a service and value to the membership.
